Greenpoint just got a bit taller. The Brooklyn neighborhood’s newest high rise – aptly named The Greenpoint – tops out at nearly 400 feet. And this past June, sales on its 95 condos launched – with prices started just under one million dollar for a one-bedroom.
Two-bedroom condos begin at $1.51 million while three-bedrooms start at $2.16 million. The building won’t just be condos for sale, though. There will be 287 rentals on the lower 27 floors while the 95 condos will be on floors 28 to 40.
The Greenpoint building will be connected by a courtyard to another five-story building along India and Huron streets that will house an additional 81 studios to two-bedroom rentals. Pricing for rentals has not yet been released.
The Greenpoint features 30,000 square feet of amenities – including the outdoor courtyard, parking garage, and indoor courtyards.
Condo residents can take advantage of the basketball court, sun deck, gym, yoga studio, co-working space, children’s playroom, outdoor lounging area, and a private dining room with a catering kitchen.
Most of the condos feature balconies or terraces and include high ceilings, honed statuario white marble in the kitchen and master bathroom as well as Miele appliances and wide plank walnut floors.
The tower was developed by Mack Real Estate Group and Palin Enterprises along with Urban Development Partners. The Greenpoint was designed by Ismael Leyva Architects.
Mack Real Estate group bought the property ten years ago for nearly $85 million. The first round of the project was put on hold due to the post-recession credit freeze but returned in August of 2014. At that time, the apartments were advertised as “affordable luxury.”
Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson purchased retail space for his new restaurant – his first in Brooklyn.
Residents won’t be able to move in until next summer but the building was finished this past February.
The development team is working on a 29,000-square-foot public park that will connect the India Street ferry stop to the NYC Ferry.
Greenpoint is a trendy spot in Brooklyn located off the G train. It’s a bit of a trek for locals and tourists, but is quickly becoming a favorite thanks to hip coffee shops, boutiques, and green parks.
It features views of the Manhattan skyline that rival – if not surpass – those in Williamsburg. This Brooklyn spot features tons of great restaurants – from traditional Polish restaurants to Mediterranean to traditional American.
